This is the type of film that should get notice at the Academy Awards but unfortunately won’t. My hope is that they will at least have the decency to nominate the man for his incredible performance.

It’s a complex film that makes you work for the answers, and relies on the audience’s baggage and views to create the connections and fill in the gaps of the story.

Michael Fassbender delivers a hell of a performance. One that will, probably, not be topped this year.

Every frame is a delight, and credit goes to Steve McQueen. The director injects reality with just enough of the surreal to make it feel like its tip toeing into the realm of fantasy.

It’s worth mentioning that Nicole Beharie turns in wonderful work as a supporting actress.
